There are beautiful villages all over Iran, each with its own charms. But the main feature of all villages is the use of local resources and materials for construction. Among them, there are villages that have been created without the use of materials and only by digging rooms in the heart of the earth or stone. One of the well-known examples is the village of Kandovan in East Azerbaijan, which is an attractive example of such innovations.

Meymand village in Kerman province is one of the villages that has been created with the least materials and only by creating holes and rooms in the heart of stone, and for this reason it is one of the rare examples in Iran. This village is located 30 km away from Shahr-e Babak and due to its importance, it has been registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The history of life in Meymand village dates back to more than 8,000 years ago and now this village is inhabited and life is going on there. Of course, due to the charms of urban life, this village, like many other villages, does not have the former prosperity, but there are still people who prefer a simple, peaceful life in the village to the glamor of the city.
