Prior to the arrival of Islam in Iran, it was the dominant religion in this Zoroastrian land, and for this reason, significant traces of this religion can still be seen in different parts of the country. The existence of different fire temples in the provinces of Iran is a proof of this reason. But in the meantime, Yazd province has preserved and left more signs of Zoroastrian religion.

Chak Chak or Chakchako is one of the important shrines of this religion in Iran, which is located in Yazd province and around the city of Ardakan. Chak Chak is a shrine where the symbol of Zoroastrianism, the holy fire, is lit and can be visited.

There is a small spring in this shrine and the name Chak Chak is taken from the sound of water drops dripping from this spring. The existence of a permanent water spring in this arid region is one of the reasons for the importance of this region and this shrine.
