Lorestan province with its beautiful and diverse nature is one of the most important tourist destinations in Iran. Lakes, rivers, waterfalls and valleys are just a small part of these exemplary attractions in this province.

One of the most important sights of Lorestan province, which attracts many enthusiasts and nature lovers every year, is the Shirez Strait, which is located in the west of Lorestan province and near Kuhdasht.

Shirez is a wide valley with high walls, which is one of the unique strait in Iran due to the different texture of its walls. The walls of this valley have a layered texture that are placed next to each other in a beautiful order. The beautiful color of these stones, along with the lush vegetation, has shown a stunning contrast.

At the bottom of this valley there is a small river which has made it more attractive. This river is seen along the entire length of the valley and eventually leads to the roaring river of Seimareh. The origin of this valley has been this river, which has created such landscapes over thousands and maybe millions of years with continuous erosion.

Shirez distance from Kuhdasht is about 50 km, which is the end of the road that can be passed by all vehicles. However, during the rainy season, there is a possibility of temporary blockage. This road continues to the beginning of the valley and from there the hiking trail starts at the end of the valley, which is along the small river.

Hiking in the middle of the Shirez Valley is not difficult but requires some physical fitness. The whole route from the beginning to the end of the valley is about 2 km, which can usually be traveled in less than 2 hours. The end of the valley leads to a cave, which the river flows out.

The best time to visit Shirez Strait is early spring, However, it can also be visited in other seasons.

At the beginning of the valley there were limited amenities that have recently been destroyed by floods and are no longer usable. For this reason, if you want to visit, it is necessary to have all the required content with you.
