Rich wildlife and having diverse flora and fauna is one of the tourist attractions of Iran and in every province you can see unique sights. The climatic diversity of Iran has made it possible to have and benefit from a wide range of this animal and plant life at any time.

One of the beautiful rivers of Bushehr province is Helleh river which has become an important habitat in this province with its rich flora and fauna. The importance of this habitat is such that it has become a protected area and has enjoyed the support of such areas.

Helleh River originates from the mountains of Fars, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Provinces and after a long way and irrigating towns and villages along its route, finally leads to a large wetland on the Persian Gulf near Bushehr.

Helleh Protected Area includes a large area with different coverings. Part of it is covered by the Helleh River and the surrounding forests. Farther from the river there are relatively dry lands with thin vegetation. But in all these areas there is a rich animal life, some of which are inhabited and some of which are migratory. Birds such as Pelicans are beautiful guests of the lagoon and around the river, and in more remote areas, mammals such as boars, wild cats and wolves are permanent residents of the protected area of Helleh.

Entering and visiting the Helleh Protected Area requires permission from the Environment Organization. The best place to enter is the village of “Koreband” in the northwest of Bushehr. With the help of environmentalists in this area, suitable places can be found to visit their permanent and temporary residents. But the Helleh River can be visited along the road.
