This collection is completely unique both in terms of the existence of archeological sights and in terms of its connection with written historical and mythological documents in the north and west of Iran. Currently, sights from the early Sassanid period to the Mongol Ilkhanate period have been identified in this collection, but since the theoretical history of this collection reaches the Achaemenid and Parthian periods, there is no doubt that if excavations continue, important works from the pre-Sassanid period in this The location will be discovered.
The natural part of Takht-e-Soliman complex consists of a limestone mountain at the top of which there is a very large spring (with a lake about 100 meters in diameter). This mountain has been formed for thousands of years due to calcareous sediments in the water of the above spring. Several small hills of this type are currently forming around the limestone springs around Takht-e Soleiman mountain. The high mountain of Soleiman Prison is one of these sedimentary mountains that was formed five kilometers from Takht-e Soleiman thousands of years ago (although now the spring that created this mountain and its lake has dried up). Therefore, the process of formation of sedimentary mountains in Takht-e-Soliman region is a natural thing and is related to the specific shape of the land and the type of solutes in the springs of the region.
Takht-e Soleiman spring started to boil thousands of years ago and gradually, due to the glaze obtained from the compounds in the water, the outer edge of the sediment spring closed and rose. This process has continued for thousands of years and has caused the spring water to form a pot around it, so that now the height of the hill resulting from the above process and also the depth of the lake due to the boiling of the spring water reaches about 62 meters. Considering that the height of sediment around the lake has increased by about 12 meters since the Sassanid period, during the last 1400 years, it can be said that the height of the lake pot has increased a little less than 9 mm almost every year.
