Teng-e dar canyon is one of the beautiful nature tourism destinations in the north of the country. This canyon is located eight kilometers south of Nowshahr city. Swimming and jumping, river trekking, rock climbing are among the exciting activities that you will experience in this place.

 

 

 

Where is Tang-e Dar canyon?

Tang-e Dar is one of the sightseeing places of Nowshahr in Mazandaran province, which is located in the green forests and near Khoshke-sara village. Tang-e Dar is also known as Tang Dar, Tang Daar, Kurkorod. Local people also call it Tang-e Koshke Sera. The name of this tang may be due to the presence of trees around it.

 

 

 

 

 

Access route to Tang-e Dar

If you are traveling from Chalus road to Tangdar, go to Nowshehr at the junction of Chalus and Nowshehr and enter Kushaksara road. This road is located eight kilometers before Nowshahr. After Kushaksara, enter a road and move to the right at the crossroads until you reach the bridge over the Kurkorod River. You have to park your car here and walk the rest of the way.

 

 

 

The beauty of Tang-e Dar canyon

On the path, there are ponds where you can enjoy a dip. In fact, the pleasant sound of water and swimming in the clear ponds are among the memorable features of being in Tang-e dar; Especially since its rocks are covered with moss and ivy branches hang around them and create a beautiful view.

The forests of this area are so lush and wide that their branches are spread in a path; So that you are under their shade all the way and the sunlight barely reaches the floor from the leaves. Along this route, you will probably encounter different species of reptiles and amphibians, such as water snakes, frogs, crabs and lizards, which double the excitement of this adventure.

 

 

 

Challenges of Tang-e Dar canyon Trip

The depth of this river varies along the route; So that at the beginning of the path, its depth is not much and you go almost up to your knees in the water. But gradually the walls get closer together and thus the depth of the water increases, until eventually the water reaches at least up to your chest. For this reason, it is better to go to this area in a group and use a rope in the deep parts. The water depth of the river is different in different seasons of the year and due to the melting of the snow upstream in spring, the amount of water reaches the highest level and the lowest level in late summer.

 

 

 

 

The best season to visit this area

The best time to travel to Tang-e dar is late spring and especially summer. At the beginning of the spring, due to heavy rainfall, the water level of the valley is high and climbing is associated with danger. In autumn and winter, it is not recommended to go to this area because of the cold, snow and rain; But summer is the best season for swimming in Tang-e dar.
