“Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari” province is located in the foothills of the Zagros mountains and is one of the most water-rich provinces in Iran due to heavy rainfall. This province is the source or strengthener of many important rivers in Iran, including Zayandehrud and Karun. The high Zagros mountains in this province store significant amounts of ice and snow during the winter and slowly return to nature during the warm seasons in the form of rivers and boiling springs on their slopes. These springs appear in the form of beautiful lakes in places where it is not possible to create a river and show beautiful landscapes.

Choghakhor wetland is one of the large lakes in “Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari” province, which is located 55 km from Shahrekord and has become one of the important attractions of this province by creating beautiful landscapes and nature around it. In early spring, the lush and flower-filled landscape of this lagoon with snow-capped mountains creates an indescribable beauty.

Choghakhor wetland, in addition to the aquatic environment of the lake, has created vegetation around it, including extensive shrubs and meadows, which has caused the growth and breeding of many animals and birds on its shores. Many migratory birds enter the lake every year. There are few trees around the lagoon, so on sunny days, staying by the lake can be difficult.

It is not difficult to visit Choghakhor wetland and its beautiful wildlife and it is possible to approach this wetland in many places.

Choghakhor Wetland is one of the important tourist destinations in “Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari” province. For this reason, suitable welfare and accommodation facilities can be found around this lagoon and nearby villages.
