Tabas city is known as one of the important destinations of travel tours due to having many tourist attractions, including historical, cultural and natural. Existence of high diversity of attractions such as villages, valleys and deserts has made this region a tourism hub in Iran.

In the distance between Khor and Biyabank to Tabas and after crossing the vast plain of Khor salt lake, before entering the mountainous area, there is a large sand dune that fascinates every viewer more than 50 km long, which starts from a place called Halvan and continues to the road leading to Tabas and even lower.

One of the suitable places to visit this desert is Halvan village, which is about 80 km from Tabas and 30 km from the main road of Tabas to Khor and Biabank. Before reaching Halvan, signs show the desert route, which is a relatively long dirt road. Although this road is not of high quality, it is doubtful for all vehicles and can be crossed. At the end of the road and near a brick kiln, you have to get out of the car and enter the sands and sand dunes of this area from the desired route. This desert has a rich flora and fauna and you can see all kinds of plants and trees in desert areas.

Do not worry about staying overnight after visiting the desert. In Halvan village and other villages around Tabas, suitable welfare facilities have been created for travelers and tourists. Other attractions of Tabas can be visited next to Halvan desert. The villages of Ezmighan and Kal Jenny are among the sights close to this area that are very popular with tourists.
