Khara is a village about 35 km south of Varzaneh in Isfahan province, which is one of the most important tourist destinations in the region and this province due to its beautiful and pristine desert. To see this desert, you must first start from Hassan-Abad village. Then, with the guidance of the signs, easily reached the village of Khara. From the village of Khara onward, a road leads you to high sand dunes. The route is not long and passing through the desert bushes will be so attractive that you will quickly find yourself next to the sand dunes.
Khara Desert is actually a stretch of Varzaneh Desert, which is like a long mountain range that runs from here to Varzaneh and then to Gavkhoni Lagoon. A mountain range that is very beautiful and spectacular in aerial images, and of course it is very attractive from the ground. The road of leads to the salt mine and Lake Khara, which, of course, is sometimes covered with sand at the end of the route and is not suitable for non-SUV cars. If you do not have an SUV car, it is better to be careful and go as far as it suits your car. In any case, you can get out of the car in a place close to Raml and enter this beautiful and magical nature with a short walk.
Due to having the same road, Khara Desert is not as crowded as Varzaneh yet, but on holidays it usually welcomes different groups. For this reason, if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing space, you should probably try a longer walk and get further away from the route. Along the way, trucks sometimes pass by the source or destination of which is a lake salt mine. Due to the narrowness of the road, more caution is required and if you stop, be careful not to obstruct the path of these heavy vehicles.
The villages of Khara and Hassan-abad are not yet completely touristy, and if you plan to stay near the Khara desert, it may not be possible to find accommodation and you will have to return to Varzaneh or other surrounding towns.
