“Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad” provinces are located in the Zagros Mountains and therefore have a beautiful and attractive nature for enthusiasts. This small province has different climates in its north and south, so that in the northern parts, which is adjacent to Isfahan and “Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari” provinces, a cold climate prevails, and in the southern parts, which are in contact with Khuzestan province, there is hot climate. But in all these areas, “Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad” province enjoy the blessings of high and beautiful mountains, and for this reason, the nature of Zagros and beautiful oak forests can be seen everywhere in this province.

In the south of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province and between the cities of Basht, Choram and Gachsaran; There is a high and beautiful mountain called Khamin which has had a great impact on the lives of the people of this region. There are many springs and rivers around this mountain, which has created a lush nature in the region. Agriculture and animal husbandry flourish around this mountain and many beautiful villages have been built in its foothills.

One of the effects of this mountain is in the field of tourism prosperity because there are many recreational places around this mountain naturally that the residents of this region and other cities benefit from it. One of these famous and well-known promenades is “Roneh River” which is considered by the locals and nature lovers of other provinces of Iran due to its beautiful scenery.

Khamin Mountain is the catchment area of ​​some major rivers in the region, including “Shah Bahram”, which has caused significant economic prosperity in this region.

The foothills of Mount Khamin are defined as a protected area due to the rich flora and fauna and the existence of a variety of mammals and wild birds and are at the disposal of the Environmental Protection Organization. This area is home to many species of animals such as goats, rams, bears, wolves, boars, squirrels. Trees of Zagros region such as oak, pistachio, fig and hawthorn are also found in abundance in this protected area.
