Ashtian is a village under siege, and if the tourism industry had returned the business to the village, perhaps a village called Ashtian would have been buried under the sand.
At the end of the road that connects Mesr to Farahzad, there is a large hole with a different view. A large pit known to the locals as the Chal Selkanun (Selkanun pit).
