Mountains with a lot of water storage, which is the result of melting winter snow, cause prosperity around them for a long time. Most of the great rivers of Iran originate from the mountains, especially the Zagros mountains. Due to the presence of water, many lakes also appear at the foot of high mountains.

Dena mountain range is located on the border of Isfahan and “Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad” provinces has created a wide area of pristine and pleasant climate due to its high altitude and vastness. This nature includes rivers, high waterfalls and vast forests that can be seen in the corners of this vast area.

On the southwestern side of this mountain range near Sisakht, there is a beautiful lake that has become one of the most important lakes in this province and Iran with its unique nature around it.

Kuh Gol Lake is located 10 km southeast of Sisakht and can be reached on foot in about an hour. The lack of access by car has left the lake largely untouched and no amenities have been built around it.

The area around the lake is empty of trees, but in spring the whole area is filled with lush meadows and colorful flowers, which create a unique image with the view of snow-capped mountains. Next to Kuh Gol Lake, there are a number of smaller lakes that vary in number and size according to the amount of rainfall.

Kuh-e Gol Lake is located in the valley of the same name, which is protected due to its rich wildlife. Walking in this valley and visiting its wildlife can be an exciting memory of a trip to Sisakht.
