Kermanshah is one of the beautiful provinces of Iran, which attracts many enthusiasts with its wide variety of different climates. The province has many ancient attractions, some of which are even inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In addition to antiquities, Kermanshah province has a beautiful nature due to its location in the Zagros Mountains and has significant natural monuments.

One of the natural attractions of this province, which is located near the city of Kermanshah, is known as “Sarab Nilofar” and is one of the places that many enthusiasts visit to relax or photograph. Sarab Nilofar is located about 20 km northwest of the city and is accessible to the public.

Sarab Nilofar is a relatively large reservoir that is about 400 meters long and 300 meters wide. This reservoir does not have a river source and its water is supplied by floor springs and rainfall.

The name of Sarab Nilofar is due to the presence of lotus flowers in this reservoir, which blooms in spring and shows a beautiful view. The broad leaves of lotus flowers and their large number make it difficult to see even the surface of the lake in some places. The water of Sarab Nilofar is very clear and can be seen well inside. There are amenities around Sarab Nilofar and it can be used if you wish.

This reservoir has been registered as one of the national natural monuments. The presence of animal wildlife in and around this lagoon is another feature and beautiful birds can be seen in the corners.

In addition to all the attractions mentioned, due to the existence of suitable conditions for swimming and other water sports, this wetland is one of the important tourist destinations in Kermanshah province.
